Emerging Technology Forum October 11, 2007

The IT Coalition of Innovate St. Louis presents the third event in its Emerging Technology Forum series on Thursday, October 11th, 2007 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at One CityPlace in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Executives from SSE and Bunzl, USA will present case studies showing how emerging technologies impact workforce training.

Topic: Workforce Training in a Time of Technological Change

Bunzl USA, the leading supplier in North America, has more than 70 warehouses and 60,000 different supplies. Leveraging wireless technology to automate warehouse processing was a strategic business decision—particularly in light of significant recent acquisition activity. With any new deployment of enterprise technology, successful use adoption is paramount. Successful user adoption in this case was further challenged by a highly distributed workforce with low-levels of computing knowledge where English was not the primary language. SSE worked with Bunzl to create a comprehensive learning program incorporating role specific online training (elearning) that addressed software and business processes as well as change management.

Speakers

Peggy Nance, Corporate Director of I.T. Field Services, Bunzl USA
With over 16 years at Bunzl Distribution, USA, as the Corporate Director of IT Field Services, Peggy manages the integration of acquisitions into the Bunzl platforms. Prior positions within Bunzl include Corporate IT Help Desk Manager, Regional MIS Manager and Conversion Team Lead.

Elizabeth Elliott Niedringhaus, President, SSE
